Is the dressing mixed in right before the wrap is assembled, or is it from a pre-mixed batch? If it’s the former, wonder if it’s one heavy-handed employee.

Does UES have a chicken shortage or something
electrax94
Our household is continually frustrated by Milano UWS. We started eating there in college, picked up again when we moved back to the area, and we have been trying to figure out if it has gone downhill or our palates have changed. This particular wrap—and the H17, which used to be a go-to—have been so inconsistent in quality the past several years. Sometimes the Caesar wrap is great! More often, it’s either too dry, the lettuce is warm and wilted, or the chicken is burnt (inedibly bitter). It’s a shame because we know how good it can be, and the prices make it hard to justify the risk.

There are much better sandwiches at both places: I’m still really baffled why this, of everything on their menus was the thing? On the east side, my go-tos are The Dalton and the Milano Special.
MissPlum66
Are the two stores the same company?
Kleos-Nostos
Slightly off topic here, but do we know how these two places are related?
They have the same items, but many of them have different names.
They also have different websites.
In my head canon they are two rival branches of the same family.

I got mine at the UES location after hearing all the hype and was really disappointed – very little dressing and falling apart. Is the hype really just for the UWS location?

anecdotally, i’ve found the sandwiches much better (and bigger) at the UWS location. never tried the wraps, though

I had the chicken caesar wrap from the UES it was straight salad and croutons.

Slightly off topic: Milano UWS makes their own pastrami. It’s fantastic and very fatty but don’t get it in a sandwich there. They nuke it to hell and just destroy everything good about it.
Buy it by the pound and heat it yourself if you like a good pastrami on rye.

Thank you for putting the West side on the left and the East side on the right.

These places aren’t the same! I messaged the UES one on Instagram a while back and they said they’re not affiliated with the UWS location
STJRedstorm
Not me thinking the UES one looked better
chass5
i have an opinion on the chicken caesar wrap which is that it’s a top tier hangover food because you usually get a ton of lettuce which with it’s slightly bitter flavor and high water content is a tonic for the battered stomach. so east side wins for me

West side best side.

I live 5 minutes away from the UES location, and sorry, it ain’t great. It’s fine, but after ordering sandwiches there consistently for a few months I started to notice how cheap and low quality some of the ingredients they use there. One time I had a chunk of freezer burnt chicken in my chicken parm. That was the beginning of the end for me.

I would think this would be more the result of the individual employee that’s making your wrap vs the location as a whole.
joyful_starstuff
Milano Market! Ahhh, the memories! All hail the salads that are a poorly disguised excuse to eat charcuterie for lunch

DAMMIT! I went there yesterday and had flagged it because of this subreddit and I totally forgot to order the Caesar wrap. My sandwich (The Stallion) was good but I totally failed the mission 😤

Corporate wants you find the difference in these Ceasar wraps..
OldTrafford25
Milano’s is so expensive but that sandwich will feed you for an entire day.

The UWS used to be elite but lately it has dropped off. They also no longer toast it.

🤤🤤🤤 I am making a trip to the ues next weekend for sure
Independent-Wafer789
These 2 places being 2 entirely different places is the most confusing thing ever for people visiting NY, followed UWS for years couldn’t wait to go, ended up going to UES because I thought they were the same, now I gotta go to UWS on my next trip
feartiime
Maybe an unpopular opinion but I went to UES location recently and did NOT like it at all. I had a sandwich and the bread was hard, deli meat was tough and not good, and the price nearly made me cry. I’m an NYC native and would much rather just go to a local deli.
Kizzle_McNizzle
Question: were those premade?
cheezywheezy11
Generally I like milano UWS but i’ve never had their wraps (mostly go there for the specialty sandwiches, for a wrap i would rather go to a nearby deli, bar, diner, etc for cheaper). That doesn’t look great at all, waaay too much dressing
Silver_Importance777
And?
Immediate-North-9472
I would absolutely devour the one from UWS. Maybe w a little less dressing 😅
SanoKei
The UWS places prices have gone up so much over the years it’s ridiculous. Absolute bagels too.

i have at least one of the UWS ones a week lmao

How much did that go for

Having worked a deli counter briefly—just depends on the worker. It is a skill believe it or not.

Was one better than the other?
Yikes, hope you like salad with your dressing.
