You’ve never seen this on like deli roast beef?  It’s iridescence, it’s harmless.  The oil made the surface smoother so this effect happened likely.

It’s a pride sausage. Quite common now apparently.

It might be from the cholesterol layers on the surface reflecting light of wavelengths characteristic of the layer spacing, much like thin layers of oil or gasoline/kerosene on puddles of water. After the meat sits around for a while the twisted layers of cholesterol have time to form. Cholesteric liquid crystals are formed from the chiral molecules.

The thickness of the membrane is either half wavelength of a particular frequency causing it to split into ROYGBIV at a given angle, or it’s being refracted due to change in speed through different materiel just like that pink Floyd album cover.

Is this a serious post? Have you never seen oil in light? How old are you if you don’t mind?
