I like the cut of your muff

That looks so good. I remember watching a cooking show where this guy goes around to different cities and towns across America, maybe around the world, but mostly America and he was in I think, New Orleans. It was the first time ever heard of a muffaletta sandwich and it was just amazing to look at. So I started searching for the best muffaletta sandwiches in Los Angeles. There were extremely slim pickings, but it could’ve just been with the limits of Internet at the time, even though it was still within the last 10 years. So, I found a place at the famous farmers market. I went down there and tried it, and it was a driest and most lackluster sandwich I’ve ever had in my life. I have since seen numerous places that offer the sandwich but mostly through the photos. I am surprised at how many of them look the same. Dry and lacking whereas one like this and maybe a couple others I’ve seen recently in the sub Reddit, have looked absolutely wonderful. I wonder what a muffaletta sandwich would be like with lettuce. Leaf lettuce. Whether darker green or red or leaning towards iceberg type lettuce. Hmmm… I suppose that wouldn’t be a traditional one and the lettuce might even send it off in a completely different direction taste wise. Maybe even dampen the wonderful flavors of such a flavorful sandwich. I think I have a new quest to fulfill.
