Hi all! I’ve posted/commented in here a few times but now I’m posting in search of something: HONG KONG STYLE SPONGE CAKES! I recently moved here from NJ and I’d go to NYC a lot and my absolute favorite coffee shop on the planet (Spongies in Chinatown!) had the best thai iced tea and these delicious airy paper wrapped hong kong sponge cakes. Their original flavor tastes kind of like a fortune cookie but they had other flavors too and each sponge cake ran between like $1.00-$1.25
Anyway they’re so good and I’m hoping they exist somewhere in Chicago! I attached a picture of the sponge cakes for reference
