It is said that Italians starts to cry if you break the pasta. I regularly make variations of this, sometimes with heavy cream and bacon, but I would never call such a dish Carbonara. Perhaps I missed it, but I didn't see any black pepper, which is essential for a Carbonara, it's basically in the name

It's one of the easiest pasta recipes. But I use Parmigiano instaed of Pecorino, because that's what I almost always have in my kitchen.
Oh, I forgot: don't worry too much: A lot of Italians also break the spaghetti in half 😂
