It's nothing fancy like most of you, but it works well for what I need. I have PPMS and need something easy nowadays. I do need a new grinder so I can go back to beans, that one crapped out a year ago and I never set up the warranty.

I would say marry the man, but you are already “been there done that”. A little canoozle would be nice 😀

Welcome, and enjoy! It’s a nice little machine and probably gets you equal or beyond what the majority of the cafes might serve you. 🙂 You’re joining a solid number of other Bambino owners/operators here–believe it or not, not every person here owns a US$2,000-4,000 espresso machine that takes up a solid part of the kitchen. 😉

For a coffee bean grinder, some recommendations for a nice espresso-grade grinder that will let your espresso shine:

If it’s do-able/preferred, a KinGrinder K6 hand-grinder, often recommended here for its value/quality/price ratio (e.g. typically just under US$100 with an item page coupon code at Amazon/U.S.). If an electric grinder is preferred, the Baratza Encore ESP grinder (US$199) that came out last year has been recommended here for both espresso and general coffee grinding–a 2023 pro reviewer (Kyle Rowsell) video on the Encore ESP, plus other, electric grinders, and in comparison, that may be helpful and informative, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B_iSvPdkWfQ. And this year’s “poster child” as a good entry-level electric grinder, the DF54 (US$229)–*many* posts and comments here, and elsewhere, to read up on it. (Also, keep in mind that Black Friday season is only a season away–while the Encore ESP electric grinder only infrequently has been discounted, I recall one or two 20%-off discounts last ~Nov. timing (I believe that one was during a Nov. Sur La Table friends-and-family sale). A good time to purchase. 🙂 )

I downgraded from a 1.400,- machine (14 years ago) to a Bambino and it’s a great little machine, love the 3 seconds heating time. But you really need a grinder! On my Bambino, if I would store cups on top of it, they would dance and fall…
