    [Dickson’s](https://www.dicksonsfarmstand.com/)

Found these guys in the basement of the Chelsea Market. Really good stuff. The hot dogs have snap and the chili is well done. Definitely gotta go back and try their pulled pork, roast beef, etc.

    [Totonno’s](https://www.totonnosconeyisland.com/)

They’ve been looking to sell, and I’ve been nervous about what they’ll look like past this season, so if you want to go, I’d say go before this summer officially ends. They’re only open Saturdays and Sundays now, but I think the pizza is as good as ever, even if there aren’t quite as many toppings available as there have been in the past.

    [Famous Ben’s](https://famousbenspizzaofsoho.com/)

They do two slices that I really like, the tomato and onion one which has a shitload of onions, and a “Palermo” one which is just sauce and toasted bread crumbs with olive oil. The rest of their stuff I can take or leave.

    [Cocu](https://www.cocu.nyc/)

My vaccination hit me like a ton of bricks, and this place had some of the best chicken soup I’ve found. Recommended on that basis alone.

    [L’Industrie](https://www.lindustriebk.com/)

This was one of their Wednesday sandwiches, and, for my money, their best. They’re like $20, but at least you can get two meals out of them. Check [their IG](https://www.instagram.com/lindustriebk/) Wednesday mornings if you wanna know what they’ll have.

    [Tai Pan Bakery](https://taipanbakery.com/)

Scallion hot dog bread, $2.50. They have a bunch of savory breads but this one is my favorite.

    [Figure Eight](https://www.figureeight.nyc/menu/dogwood-cafe-pop-up/) / Dogwood Cafe

The pop-up is only open one more weekend, 9/14-9/15. This is their Bananas Foster HK French toast. I loved it. Its appearance may lead you to believe otherwise but it was not overwhelmingly sweet.

    Peking Duck Crepe

As far as I can tell, this booth has no website, no online anything. It shows up at street fairs, so if you want to find it, check the [street fair schedule](https://nycstreetfairs.com/event-schedule/). Cash only. At $20, it’s not cheap, but the crepe is big!

    [Original Soup Kitchen](https://www.yelp.com/biz/the-original-soupman-new-york-7)

Yeah, it’s touristy, no, I don’t care. I appreciate that you get fruit, bread, and chocolate with your order. They also have a bit more variety than some other soup spots. The split pea and ham was just what I needed since I was sick at the time.

Didn’t realize Totonno’s was still open — went once a few years before Covid and my dad still talks about the crust lol

I’ve just saved this post! We are heading to NYC in a couple of weeks from the UK and this all looks AMAZING. Thank you for sharing! (Shame Figure Eight won’t be open, as that looks delicious)

  4. DinerEnBlanc

Love Figure Eight! Correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t think they’re closing. They have a special menu lasting till the end of the autumn festival, but I didn’t see an announcement of closure.

Totonno’s is the best pizza I’ve ever had, only been once though because of where it is

oh wow! I’ll be in New York (from London) for the first time this weekend so I’ll adding a few of these to my list.
