Served blind — guess was ‘20’s or ‘30’s left bank Bordeaux; unmistakable.
Very good condition; survived pretty much a full hour in the glass; nose of dried cranberries, orange peel, and pencil shavings; red fruit on the palate still held together with an impressive acid core; peaked at about 10-15 mins after pour.
Very similar to other examples from ‘28 / ‘34 but showing very well.
Fun. Showing much better than ‘28 Latour consumed a little while ago.

How’s that Grange? What year is it?
Classic hotter year. Back in those days 12% abv was the norm. My bet is this was 13 plus. Like 1945 and 1947. These wines when first bottled were almost black, they were so textured and deep coloured. And clearly keepers. Lucky B…
