This week, a pregnant Molly shows us her twist on the classic orange creamsicle. She makes a refreshing satsuma granita (this was shot in the winter) with a delicious coconut whip on top, but you can sub satsuma with whatever citrus you have on hand that is the freshest. This recipe is stupid easy, stupid delicious, and also really pretty. What’s not to love?

Ingredients:

Produce
3 pounds satsumas or other seasonal citrus (oranges, mandarins, tangerines, etc)
1 lemon

Pantry
¼ cup plus 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
Kosher salt
1 ½ teaspoon vanilla bean paste or extract (or more as needed)

Dairy
1 cup heavy cream
⅓ cup coconut yogurt

  1. I’m hosting a dinner party and I suck at making desserts so came to this knowing you’ll come in clutch! I literally have lemons tattooed on my ankle. Citrus is LIFE! Thanks for the recipe, Molly!

  2. Molly, I appreciate your cheery, chipper demeanour. You and your buttery yellow kitchen bring me joy on hard days…..Also, I was watching a past episode and a butterfly fluttered by your window and my Sweetheart declared the window was a screen and the view was fake. I lovingly declared him an idiot.

  3. "the salt makes them taste more mandarin-y"
a PRIME example of how salt enhances flavour, no matter what flavour.
