What do you guys think of these tampers I made? Hand turned out of some different exotic and domestic hardwoods. Also they’re 57 mm, is that a useful size? It seems less common than 58 mm.

If you’d reduce the size of the left one to fit a breville PF (53.3 mm I think?) AND are somewhere near Germany I’d consider buying that.

57mm is a bastard size and is going to severely limit your market. I think Lelit is the only mfg to use 57mm portafilters.

Those are very beautiful.

Mm snake wood, Texas ebony and crotch claro walnut? That’s my guess. Also lelit is the only one I know that does 57mm… they gotta make everything proprietary.
Edit: tamarind!! It’s tamarind! Looks like some tamarind that I turned with a little sap wood.

Those are beautiful but as another mentioned only one manufacturer uses 57. Better to make in 58’s or 53 (breville) if you want to sell to market. What’s your price point?

Why would you make 5 of them before asking if the size is useful lol. Are they actually 58mm and it’s to drive engagement from people like me?

You can reduce to 54 or 51. 51 is very common with De’Longhi and 54 is with breville.

That wood on left is damn gorgeous. What is that?

I think they look awesome. If you start making 58mm ones, I would consider one.

Stunning!!

if the thread size is known, would you just sell the handle? people may be able to customize the tampers they already have. could be an option.

58.35 is where it’s at.

The shapes of the 2nd, 3rd and 5th are strange. I don’t really understand how you’re supposed to grip them. It seems the big top might be in the way of a good grip. Hard to tell without trying though.

Why would you want to reduce the diameter? Anyone with a standard (la marzocco style) portafilter will want 58.3mm. 57mm is only for Lelit and 53mm would be for breville but they won’t buy your product anyways or they’d have bought a better machine in the first place.
