At my local Schnucks. I have a tiny 15 dollar weber-like grill. Should I upgrade with this?

Not much more and you’re in a real Weber.

  2. Mr_TP_Dingleberry

I would not. Save up and get a quality grill

It would last you a season or two. Saw one last time I was in schnucks and it wasn’t terrible.

No. For one thing, I guarantee it’s not airtight. You’ll spend way more on charcoal because you won’t be able ro reuse the coals. Get a Weber.

Absolutely not. This is designed to be put on the curb after a few months.

Don’t do it. That grill looks cheap and thin. Another $60 and you can get a real 22 Weber kettle: a proper grill and a true workhorse. And there are so many accessories available to suit your own needs.

We’ve used ours 1-5 times a week for 5 years and it’s still primo. The paint is perfect, no rust. Wheels, handles, air inlet, ash remover: perfect. And we don’t baby it. It’s usually under the screened porch, but it’s been left out in plenty of rain and snow.

It can handle damn near every task. Wanna slow smoke a huge chunk of meat…..even in the winter? The 22’s gotcha. Wanna baptize some ribeyes in hell fire? 22’s the man for the job.

I was looking into an Oklahoma Joe smoker for more surface area, but decided for the price and space I would rather have a few more kettles!

If that’s what you want, go for it.!

Go on fb marketplace and get a Weber kettle. It likely won’t cost you much more

My brother in Christ. Look at your local FB freebie groups. There will be someone giving away a like-new weber. So many people who don’t cook, own them.

I’d would get a used Weber kettle from fb marketplace.

  12. RichardChrz

No, would not own, buy a bigger used Weber kettle.

I’d look on Craigslist for a used Weber. Didn’t know Schnucks was still around.

I wish you were close to me. I have a 22” Weber you could have.

I’m in KC and I know you’re in or near STL if you’re talking Schnucks.

If you browse marketplace for a week or so you’ll find a Weber kettle for the same price maybe cheaper. Or save another $60 and get a brand new one.

  16. Update:

At first I felt bad for giving up on a potential good deal but ya’ll made clear for me. Will pay a little extra for a Weber 🙂

    Thanks everyone!

Just picked up a small propane grill from Walmart for 12.50. End of summer deals rock

This is not in any way “weber-like”.
