She may have thoroughly sanitized the table first. I Lysol or Chlorox off all tables and chairs. I still would have used napkins or had paper plates with me.

Aside from the “sanitising the table before putting food directly on it” issue, I’d hope she cleaned everything up before she left, rather than leaving crumbs and food waste everywhere for someone else to clean up. Also, her kids deserve the respect of being raised with decent table manners and hygiene.

The scissors are a great idea, but maybe also little silicone plates that stick to the table so kids aren’t eating off of a publicly used table. Unfortunately, in order for sanitizing wipes or sprays to be useful, the surface has to remain wet for 3 minutes. Even with that, plates are the more practical and appropriate choice.

Knife sets literally come with food scissors. She didn’t invent this, and they need to be eating from a plate or a paper towel at least! That’s a public space.

Funny the amount of people talking about germs. Clearly you have not been around toddlers. EVERYTHING goes in their mouths. I caught my 3 yr old and his cousin spitting in each other’s mouths. Kids are gross, no amount of sanitation can stop them.
