This is why I use paper.

I threw my flair 58mm screen in my wife’s ultrasonic cleaner and basically nothing came out. I do blast mine with hot water after each use, but it was really disappointing how little I got out 😅.
I’m wondering if the cleaner itself is garbage

How do you guys get the puck screen off the puck once you’re done btw?

Ultrasonic is definitely the way to go for puck screens and filter baskets. Just a little bit of Cafiza or espresso detergent makes them shine like new.

You’ve inspired me to drop my puck screen and basket into my ultrasonic. I usually scrub mine after every use and soak in calfiza once a week. And I still got a bit of coffee out!!

I wash my mesh puck screen with soap and hot water every day, but I still do the Cafiza ultrasonic bath 1x/week and it pulls out just a little bit of brown stuff. Not enough that I feel like I need to do it more often, but enough that I’m glad to do it.

These posts always make me want to go clean mine. Whenever I do a back flush clean cycle on my machine, I soak my baskets and screens in cafiza overnight and then throw the screens in the ultrasonic the next day. Nothing ever comes out.
How are your screens so dirty? Do you not clean them after each use?
I knock out my puck, rinse both puck and screen in the sink with hot water, then dry the PF and put the screen in a rack to dry. Stays clean.

So relieved that I don’t use a puck screen anymore.

Impressive. Never had that much come out in either of my ultrasonic cleaners. Cafiza soak was much more effective for me
bnkkk
Ive cleaned my spouted portafilter, basket and puck screen with water up until now and thought it’s fairly clean, however recently I’ve thrown it into an ultrasonic cleaner with a bit of Cafiza and the water looked very similar afterwards. Very surprised with the results

That’s exactly the reason why I started using paper filters instead of puck screens. They’re cheap, less time consuming and keep the shower screen clean
