There are zero slices of provolone in this picture

Looks like a tasty steak and cheese sandwich, but I don’t know if I’d consider it a Philly cheese steak. Still would eat though in a heartbeat

Looks good but I’m more interested in those fries. Pre frozen? If so what brand? Lookin yummy

If you zoom in and squint, you can see the cheese on the bottom right corner of the bread. 🕵🏻‍♀️

The steak 🥩 looks yummy, though!

I don’t want to knock it, but suggest using beef sliced way thinner. (As well as the more cheese thing.)

  6. I prefer my cheesesteaks with whiz. Provolone is great, but the whiz makes a difference.

One of the steak sandwiches of all time

  8. Looks delicious, but as a warning, better call it a steak & cheese. Any cheesesteak in & around Philly wouldn’t look like this, especially with the “fajita strips” of meat. Again, I’d inhale the F outta that, but cheesesteak, this is not. Those fries also look damn amazing. I can hear the crisp from here

Go to your local grocer. Buy shaved ribeye. Chop it down while you cook it. Mix on your cheese then.

Looks decent, but the steak needs to be sliced a bit thinner. You can have a butcher do this for you, or a decent hack that I’ve learned is take the frozen meat and a sharp knife and you can pretty easily get those thin shaved slices that are desired.

You don’t a recipe but i suggest watching some YouTube videos. You’ll pick up on a bunch of tips to fill in your knowledge gaps. Thin sliced meat, higher temperature sear on the meat for a better crust on the steak. Melt your cheese into your steak and veggies. You’ll be able to make better cheesesteak at home than restaurants.

Not a cheesesteak. And I say that so you can make the real thing and enjoy it. You need to get shaved rib eye or at least some kind of shaved steak.

What you made is some kind of steak sandwich or steak fajita sandwich.

Looks delicious but the meat is a little too thick

  14. You made a steak and cheese, not a philly nor a cheesesteak

  15. TellSpectrumNo

That is not a Philly cheese steak, but hope you enjoyed it.

As others said, the biggest issue is your meat. Needs to be rib eye sliced very thin, then chopped fine. Use an amoroso roll, and american cheese. You can use a different roll or different cheese but that’s the most common. Melt the cheese into the steak. Rolls aren’t usually toasted but like that’s a preference. Idk why everyone else thinks cheesesteaks come with bell peppers, literally no one in Philly does that. AND FINALLY, it is not called a “Philly” or a “Philly cheesesteak,” it 👏 is 👏 only 👏 called 👏 a 👏 cheesesteak. The more you know 🌈

A sinfully low amount off fries. And not a scrap of cheese to be found on the cheesesteak. Is this some kind of sick joke OP?

  18. Cooknbikes

I’m gonna say that’s way more of a fajita on bread than a Philly.

  19. betrayed_soul89

Bread looks hard crunchy, thentype that hurts the roof of the mouth. Looks dry overall. And steak pieces are too large. Hope it tastes good though!

Legit question, what does a Philly Cheesesteak consists of?

  21. BeansOnA3

you ate all the fries waiting for the steak to finish didn’t you?
