The lower area is on a slope and has a tree canopy so that’s out. I grilled once on a gravel bed around the side of the house but it was kind of tight and close to the back fence.

So the long term goal is to get professional help and get the whole left side of this “deck” paved or just have paver tiling while the right side my wife wants to do some gardening conversion.

For the time being I cleared the mulch bed that was there and made a 6×5 platform out of loose paver stones. I think this should be safe enough especially since I can monitor it from behind the screen door.

Yes? No?

I don’t see how it would be unsafe besides maybe falling over. My only concern would be it being pushed over or blown off the ledge with a strong wind storm. Maybe get some blocks and put around the wheels to keep it from doing that.

It’s completely safe—just turn off the gas when you’re done. Has there been a rash of gas grill related tragedies lately? All of a sudden a lot of people seem nervous about it.

Pavers are fine. All my grills are on patio pavers in my back yard and they don’t go anywhere unless I am the one moving them. Then again, my surface is flat.

Just make sure your wheels are in the locked position and you should be good to go. If you are worried about them moving still, consider buying some cheap wheel chalks online and that should provide some ease of mind.

Make sure your grill is level though. Grilling on an uneven grill sucks.

Go to the nearest school, administration building, Walmart etc and grab two pallets.

Go to Home Depot a grab 12-15 cedar fence boards (6 footers). Attach pallets with screws and use the fence boards for deck boards.

    Cheapest platform “deck” you’ll make.

I’d be concerned about it tipping backwards if a wind hits it just right. But I get crazy winds here and one of my grills seems like it gets toppled once a year

Do you normally burn the ground when you grill?

Hell of a lot better than where I have my two grills.
