Hello everyone. Thanks in advance
A little background, I found an LM machine. It’s GS 3MP. Posting few photos of the machine. The person or the Dealer of LM machine says that the machine is opened and they opened it to check if everything is right before shipping it to the buyer that is me, as the machine is imported in my country so they have to check if nothing is damaged during transit. They say the machine is not been used even once and it was bought by someone else, but the person backed out and didn’t end up buying it. Its a March 2024 production and he says that he got it recently imported. requesting to please go through all the photos, have uploaded five of them
What I am worried about is the parts inside if they have been changed, maybe with some another GS3 machine. I am not saying that this has been done, but it’s just I’m worried about, as obviously it has yo be unboxed by someone eho byys it. Also, he is ready to get me a brand new machine but then he says the lead time would be around December or January.
Fellow redditers, what would you suggest or what you would have done?
Thanks again.

Why don’t you reach out to La Marzocco directly to verify if you are buying from an authorized dealer?
I’m not dropping 7K on a machine from some random.

Ask him to take off side covers and send pics?

Sounds like you’d trust buying a new machine from the same seller, so whats the difference? They could do the same scam on a new one, so the question is are they a reputable seller. Why tell you it’s open if they could lie and say it’s new?
Looks properly packed, these kind of sales happen. Ask for close up photos.
You can also party with a method that has buyer protection like PayPal or a credit card, so that you have recourse if they don’t resolve the issue if it is in fact tampered with.

I must be a poor, because spending $7k on a coffee machine sounds outlandish to me. My espresso setup probably ran me a little under $1k with everything, and that felt pretty damned pricey.

Looks like some fancy Korean bbq grill.
