In the second menu, we’ll prepare sardine skewers in two styles—wrapped in grape leaves and classic shish with peppers and tomatoes—paired with a tangy arugula onion salad and homemade corn bread loaves. Ingredients For “Kiremitte Sebzeli Sardalya” Sardines With Vegetables In Clay Pot:
300-500gr. fresh or frozen sardines, deboned (use as much as you want per serving)
1 onion
2-3 potatoes
olive oil to saute
1-2 tomatoes
salt, black pepper, pul biber (chili flakes) to taste
olive oil to season
lemon slices
mild red and green peppers

CORN BREAD:
1/3 each yogurt, vegetable oil, milk
1/3 cup water
1 tsp sugar
1 tsp salt
2 tsp baking powder
1/3 cup flour
about 1+1/2 cup corn flour
butter to grease the pans

ARUGULA ONION SALAD:
Arugula leaves and some purslane
Tomatoes and green peppers
Onions (if you can find use red onion)
Sumac, salt
Couple of olives

FISH SKEWERS:
wooden skewers
fresh sardined debones
tomato and peppers
salt and black pepper to taste
grape leaves to cover
sunflower to grill

  4. You can prepare tahini halva at home by adding cup of milk powder and cup of sugar powder to a cup of tahini (minced sesmi seed) .if you want it with nuts add any type you like ..

  7. Hello Aysenur! I must say you have made my mouth water, although I am not a fish lover I would really love to try those sardine kebabs. We can not find fresh sardines in Malta . I buy anchovies ready salted in oil and I wash them in milk to neutralize the saltiness, sometimes I use them when I make pizza with olives and capers.   9. Yes! we have sardines but they are bigger. We season it with salt, pepper and fresh lime juice. Pass it on flour and fry it in hot oil.😋😋😋😋😋😋
