Ordered a double pepperoni, extra cheese, well-done pizza from my favorite local spot. One of the ladies that works there loves putting the pepperoni's under the cheese. The pie was absolutely incredible (I hit it with a good helping of Trader Joe's hot honey) but I definitely prefer my toppings actually you know…on top

Me too on top, like the browning.
It depends on the topping.
If I want the topping to get some brown, then on top. If I want the topping to infuse i to the sauce for that specific marriage of flavors, then under.
If I want both, I’ll do both. (Growing up there was a spot that would do both pepperoni on top, and would put little cubed pepperoni bits under the cheese with the sauce to infuse into the sauce).
Lately ive been into Pepperoni, olive, and pickled jalapeno. I’ve been doing the pep and olives on top of the cheese, and the jalapeno underneath. It goes hard.
I like both under or on top. If it is a lot of toppings, i like to put it under the cheese
would you pic your mate sight unseen? I think no – same with pizza!
the only topping I like under the cheese is onion. Even then, I would prefer on top. Everything else, and especially meats, I want them to get roasted.
It doesnt matter that much.. lol.. I only need to have delicious pizza.. hehe
Certain things go better under the cheese. Anchovies, for example.
Toppings on top. Meats get crispy and veggies shed more moisture. Putting meats and veggies under the cheese is basically boiling them a bit… yuck. I do put my fresh basil leaves under the cheese for the bake instead of on top after the bake.
I have no strong feelings one way or the other.
As others have said, it depends on the topping. Shredded chicken or sliced mushrooms dry out less if under the cheese.
But I put anything like pickled jalapeños, pepperoni, onions, etc. on top
I use to always do this so that it would keep them from falling off welst easting until I realized that it impeded the cooking of the toppings.
Only if it’s a Chicago thick pie. Otherwise, I might throw some basil leafs down with spices like oregano, parsley..
Toppings on top for me, I like a little crisp. But I’ll do either way happily as long as sauce isn’t on top. That, I’ve never been able to come around to.
Crushed pepper is good under the pizza. Besides that not usually a fan.
When toppings are on top, they are called the top, why, because they get what sprinkles get, respect and not to shrug at the extra chance to add flavours through caramelized, sweet crunchy burned bits, I mean what is a milk solid without the crunch-flavour or characteristic crusts beauty marks, cover, never, I am too fond of my rue to not use it.
Not a big deal, but, I do prefer the toppings on top for sure. It dries them out a bit and tastes better.to me. When all toppings are under the cheese it can make the pizza a bit watery.
Everything has to be on top !
Some toppings under, some over. Someone mentioned anchovies and I can see that; I love them but they’re kinda overpowering. Pepperoni you need to feel the texture so put it on top.
Tell where you got that pie if you don’t mind? I’m dying to know.
Mixed feelings. I like my toppings roasted via direct heat. Still, you would not see me shy away from that beast.
Truly depends on my mood.
I feel right about it. You did right.
Veggies & pepperoni upper deck, everything else below.
That’s not where they belong
A little on top, a little under the cheese.
Not a topping! Stuffing!
Perfect, it holds the flavor in!
When I make my pizzas I always do cheese, toppings then more cheese lol
I like crispy toppings so on top
I like the idea of it but I find it just leaves the toppings undercooked
