“gental pat” burgers. Just because you cooked them on a griddle doesn’t make them a smash burger.

I was doing smash like this at first and they came out better than forming a party in my experience. I called them thick smash burgers. Used bigger balls (hehe) and smashed till like 3/4″ thick.
dodgerbrewtx
Lightly pressed down burgers.

Not a smash burger. These are medium thickness.

My smashburgers never get that much char on them and I don’t know what I’m doing wrong. The griddle is on the highest heat and I smash them thin as hell. The edges get a little crispy but I dont get the maillard reaction as much as I want.

Imagine calling these smash burgers. I’m guessing you don’t know football either.

Add beer, and it’s the perfect conbo..
Pattying them out is not smashing
Plate doesn’t look hot enough to seal and char.
