This is what happens when we wait a week between pickings

We skipped picking cherry tomatoes this harvest because half the family just got back from a thirteen hour drive and isn’t feeling well, but there’s loads of those out there still, too.

  2. That looks like a bunch of jalapenos. Why did you pick them while they’re still green?

I’m growing them for the first time this year and never knew they turned red, I always thought they were a green colored pepper only. Picked a couple green ones but they were less spicy than a standard bell pepper. Learned they turn red and get spicier with age so waited. Harvested a couple red ones and while they were delicious and flavorful, spicy was not a word I’d use to describe them. Mind you I chose jalapenos because I don’t like overly spicy things, so if I think they’re bland then they’re really bland.

So I guess I’m hoping for advice. Are yours spicy? Any idea how/why or why mine aren’t? Are they better green, assuming they can be both green and spicy?
