Upgraded from Bambino Plus to Silvia Pro X. Previously upgraded my old Smart Grinder Pro to the Sette 270. Using a smart switch so I don’t have to worry about warm up times.
The difference in steaming power is insane! Overall the machine just feels so much more professional. Dialing in so far is a bit trickier, one morning 18g in and 40g out shot took 22 seconds, I made an adjustment and the next took 50 seconds, need to find that happy medium. Even though my times have been super wonky, still making delicious milk drinks. The steaming power makes it so much easier to get great milk texture.
Grouphead is a bit leaky when I choke the machine, clear water. If it does it all the time I may change out the gasket. I don’t think I’m overdosing with the Normcore double basket. I may just get a 20g IMS basket though since I like to do a 18g dose with a puck screen.
In general just looking forward to tinkering with the machine and a long time of great coffee.

I see you went for the ultimate “wake the neighbours set-up” 😉
Congrats on the setup! I got a bit of leaking with an 18g basket and a puck screen. I don’t have that issue with the 20g or 22g IMS baskets.
I didn’t get the Pro model so I ended up doing a PID mod and added a smart switch so the machine warms up just before I hop out of bed in the morning. It also turns itself off by a certain time if I forget to do it myself. I use geofencing to skip turning the machine on when I’m not at home. Overall, I’m two years in with this machine and still love it.
What made you choose the Sette?
Lovely cups! especially the right one
Congrats! Enjoy your new machine!
I’m really satisfied with my SPX, I hope you’ll be aswell
Alarm for neighbors. Coffee for my daily routine.
