What’s going on with my 9 days old spinach seedlings? They look leggy and have a reddish stem, what could possibly be wrong and how do I fix it?

The reddish stem isn’t an issue. The legginess is from lack of light, and can be reduced by putting them somewhere they’ll get more light.

I think you’re growing rainbow chard, similar to spinach, but can come in lots of different colours. They look healthy enough to me. If you want to reduce the chance of growing leggy, make sure they have plenty of light.

The light literally needs to be 2” from the seedlings & moved up as they grow. If the light is too high, the seedlings stretch to get more light and the stems become long and leggy & not able to support the cotyledons or the true leaves and probably won’t make it.
