The manual that came with my new cast iron was directly plagiarized from [Daniel Gritzer’s article](https://www.seriouseats.com/how-to-season-cast-iron-pans-skillets-cookware) on seasoning cast iron. You can tell that it wasn’t the other way around because this is a British company, and “canola oil” doesn’t exist here! (the *can* in canola stands for “Canadian”, the same oil is sold as ‘rapeseed oil’ in the UK)
They also removed the entire section about actually putting the pan in the oven, which I presume is because they’re trying to market the pan as “pre-seasoned”. I haven’t tried the pan itself yet, but I’ve heard that it’s essentially a reversed-engineered version of the Lodge skillet, which isn’t sold here.

hoping you e-mailed them at [contact@seriouseats.com](mailto:%20contact@seriouseats.com) so they can take action.

So i don’t have to put the pan back lver heat after rubbing it down woth oil? Just wash, towel dry, heat fro a minute or two, then oil it and done? Is the pan still warm or when applying the oil or do you let it cool down before applying the oil?
