Currently boiling pizza sauce (recipe from the Bernardin Complete Book of Home Preserving).
I’m getting these spots that look like fat? I followed the recipe and am not sure if this is right?
I accidently stirred twice with a wood spoon then switched to a metal ladle. Could fat from the spoon have been pulled out?

This ladle full has no spots?
It’s fat
A sauce with no fat is….water
So….is this before or after canning?
What was the recipe?
People are identifying it as fat, which is great and all if you are following a tested recipe going into a pressure canner. Fat for a water bath canning is a concern as it is considered unsafe.
