Made my dad a pi(e)rate for his birthday

First time making a pie, really proud of how it turned out! It’s kinda rough around the edges, the design was a spur of the moment idea and I was doing my best to get the shapes I needed out of premade pie crust, but I figured the scrappy nature fit the theme quite well.

I was pretty worried about having a soggy bottom, I didn’t drain the cherries as well as I probably should have, but it baked beautifully and was absolutely delicious! I did a 3:1 ratio of sour cherries and sweet black cherries, next time I hope to make my own crust 🙂
