In Japan, bought a5 wagyu for 6 usd and did a steak sandwhich in the hostel
Just salt and a japanese steak sauce, the meat was super tender and rich, too rich. I know the crust isn't the best, the hostel pan was horrible.

Love this – buying a5 in Japan for next to nothing compared to what you pay in the USA ruined my view of it – I love it but I’ll never pay $200-$300 for a small steak in a USA restaurant ever again

Was it good? You have money for the meat but not for a decent bread though. If it wasn’t good, it is on you, if it was, so wagyu makes everything better.

The grade of Wagyu is probably best eaten in thin strips Japanese style rather than as a steak Western style. I find it too rich to eat other than in thin strips as a delicacy.
