Received my first starter from a friend last week.
This weekend I attempted to make Rye for the first time. I tried multiple times all weekend. No success… Just over proofed soup even though I babied the hell out of it.

Decided to go easy on myself yesterday/today and just make my first plain sourdough instead.

Completely thrilled with the looks, tasted awesome too.

I hope the inside looks as it is suppose to. 🙂
Happy baking!

I’m just now learning the hard way that a nice strong starter is a huge leg up… congrats though! the loaf looks gorgeous.
