This blade grinder has made me a daily Aeropress for the last eight years. Upgraded on a whim. What black hole am I getting myself in to?

You have to condition your spouse for future purchases, you have to get her/him on board.

You mean the dark hole you’re crawling out of? Welcome to the beginning of base line acceptable coffee.

Ditching a blade-type grinder for one that can grind to a uniform size is easily the single biggest upgrade you could make.

Idk but by the looks of the avocado color, you’ve got about 2 days max to eat it

Black hole? Nah man… you’re in the rabbit hole.

8 years on a blade grinder is too long 😭

I got one last month and it’s been the biggest game changer for my coffee.

It’s a good thing altho I had a Krupp one just like that almost before I got my Eureka mignon zero. I didn’t think the blade grinder did all that bad I got pretty good at it. Having great fresh coffee is key and a good grinder like the one you have is even better ! Very nice! Good luck

Ahhh, let me tell you about the black hole you’ve just climbed into.. since I did the same thing… I went from a blade grinder for Aeropress to a Cusinart burr grinder for the same. I didn’t like the Cusinart… So I bought a Breville Smart grinder.. and then a De Lonhi espresso machine.. The DeLonghi lasted a year and then started leaking, so I bought a Breville Barista express… Then I wanted more automation so I got an Oracle Then I wanted less automation and better latte art, so I bought a Barista Pro Then I realized the grinder was the weak link, and got a Niche Zero Then I wanted an authentic Machine and got a Silvia In between I tried a Bambino and returned it, since it felt too light… I also got a Wacaco portable espresso maker and Chestnut C3 hand grinder to replace an old Hario I still have the express, oracle and the pro, in different places… And it all started with a blade grinder and aeropress..
Encore is a great grinder…..I used mine for over 10 years, sent it in to be rebuilt (a great experience) and had an m2 burr put in. I used mine it for everything but espresso and am happy with the results.

Hopefully, you won’t get espresso obsessed like me. It’s nearly as expensive as being an Audiophile which is alarming.

If you stick with Aeropress, you will be OK. If you decide to get an espresso machine, then your life as you know it is about to end 😀
