Just came here to say I’m loving this journey so much! Two months ago I picked up a starter from a neighborhood health store and I haven’t been the same since! Learning, practicing, indulging, getting disappointed, accepting, trying again!

Aw you baking with the kiddos is awesome. Your bakes all look epic 😋
300 grams starter-freshly fed and active
650 grams warm water
50 grams honey
40 grams avocado oil
1000 grams White bread flour (high protein)
20 grams Salt
Mixed everything but the salt, autolyzed for 1 hours then pinched in the salt, rested for 30 them 4 stretch and folds followed by cold fermentation overnight.
Once back to room temp, final shaping, ( adding plumped raisins and sugar +cinnamon mixture if making the cinnamon raisin bread)
Final proofing done at room temperature (75-78 degrees) for 4 hours then bake in a 500 degree pre-heated cast iron, lowering to 450 for 25 minutes then opening the lid to finish for another 20 minutes.
I always slice in impatiently before it’s cooled all the way though.
I have a link for the full recipe if anyone wants it!
I know nothing about hydration and stuff still learning 😅
I love this! This is partially why I started sourdough. I want to be able to pass it down and the other part is I want to make my family good bread, nutrient dense food! good job mommy🥰
Nice looking loaves!
Where is the cast iron loaf pan with the rounded edges from? I have not seen one like that before!
The cinnamon raisin looks yummy!
Enjoy. Welcome. Smile. Bake.
WHAT IS THAT LOAF PAN!!! If you know the brand or have a link, please send it to me 🙂 Looking for a birthday gift for my recent-sourdough-journey-starting Wife!
Love the scoring on that first one!! I’m still only brave enough for one simple line 🤣
Looks amazing! 🤩Great that you’ve got your kids involved as well – mine is, but only at the devouring stage…
Hi. All I cam say is you learned your lessons very well indeed. You are an inspiration to try, try again.
Thank you for sharing your lovely loaves
Damn! Your game is tight!
so proud , be proud… those look great ! and you are teaching your little one too !
I am having a similar experience. I expressed an interest in bread making to my daughter-in-law who had recently started baking. She set me up with starter and a recipe book about 6 months ago and it’s been great . I haven’t tried many recipes, but I am improving the few I have tried.
What gorgeous loaves! I love the texture of the crumb, the lightly browned crust, and the cinnamon raisin bread looks amazing! Thanks for sharing this, as it’s quite encouraging!

First time my starter has risen like this! It’s a starter I bought from Amazon, and today, after making every mistake possible, is day 9, and I fed it with a mixture of 1/2 ww and 1/2 bread flour every 24 hours. It’s exciting!
Here to say this all looks amazzzzzing😍
Everything looks fantastic!
How do you bake the bread rolls?
