  1. Mine didn’t last more than 2 years. Totally rusted out and the wood got tore up even with the cover. Just a heads up.. I loved it but it didn’t have longevity at all 🙁

I don’t own one but have been close to buying a few second hand and every single one was rusted out so I passed on them. I don’t think they’re made very well. Just my $.02

To expand on what others said, these rust out like crazy and their support for replacement parts is an utter nightmare.

I have had one of these for about a year and I’ve liked it. I don’t see any obvious signs of rust so far.

I’ve had mine 4.5 years and love it! No rust either… The grate is cast iron so oil it but the egg itself is painted stainless steel. It’s been on a covered porch for the last 3 years with no additional cover on it.

To answer the question, I was shopping for one for most of a spring and summer and never saw it go on sale. So I’m not sure about black friday

Edit: dang, it’s digitally controlled now!

Both the regular and the auto akorn are totally worth the money.

Walmart had the autos for $220ish at one point about a year ago.

My first (regular) one I never covered and the only thing that rusted after a few yrs was the hanger for the ash pan, which is helpful, but you don’t really need.

Compare the cost to the big green egg.. i’d rather have 4 akorns.
