Join Stow resident Rosemary Monahan to hear about a botanical trip she took in spring 2024 to Turkey’s southwestern region of Lycia. Springtime in the Taurus Mountains brings abundant bloom to its rocky hillsides, covering them in sheets of color. Some of the fl owering bulbs are familiar to us in New England, such as crocus and snowdrops, but others are unfamiliar, including asphodels, anemones, and mirror orchids. Growing bulbs in our gardens is rewarding, and it’s equally exciting to see them growing in their native habitats, sometimes among ancient Roman and Greek ruins. If you like seeing photographs of beautiful plants, this talk is for you.
