First time egg owner, need to raise XL Egg 3”, suggestions?
The guy who installed my countertops said he could provide a piece of stone for it to sit on, just want to make sure whatever material it is it’s sufficient/safe.

A piece of stone that goes under the current cradle should be fine. You just want to avoid having the Egg sit flush on anything – that airflow underneath it is needed.

Put another layer of bricks under the egg

If the egg on feet it shouldn’t matter what’s under it at all… A piece of wood should be fine ….. Just don’t remove the feet. In fact you just have two boards under the set of feet creating a larger air gap

Use a stone from Home Depot

Find a used XL Big Green Egg cart and cut the legs to your required height. And throw the lower wheel part away. Now you have a custom stand.

Buy a bunch of bricks, paint them white and just add a layer to the base. Alternatively, get 2 layers of the black countertop material cut to size and put it in. The latter would be ideal given the lack of cement needed as with bricks. Additionally? Having the base black instead of white is eadier with any ashes, cleaning etc.

Put a paver block under each foot. Paint them white if you want them to match.

Use bricks painted to match. I had to add a shelf of the quartzite to move mine out, to make room for the the lid to open.

Something to match the existing countertop would be nice.
bemocked
concrete paver squares at Lowes or Home Depot
Lowes has 16” x 16”, 23”x 23” and 12” x 12” Home Depot has 18”x 18”
about 1.5” tall, so layer of two with the metal support cradle holding the egg on top
singularkudo
Sidewalk pavers
Awkward-Regret5409
Keep it in the nest, and use pavers, tiles, four white bricks, etc.
cpatel479
Fire bricks from tractor supply
neek555
If you want to make it aesthetically look nice you could put another layer of bricks there and paint it the same color as the surrounding bricks
WalnutSnail
Fire brick would be good.

Great job, you built a table left enough room around your egg and used a table nest to lift it and get air flow underneath. Enjoy many many meals with your egg!!

You’re going to have to start over, but we’re willing to help. You’ll have to dismantle that one brick by brick and ship it to me, I’ll take care of disposal. Please be extra careful when you pack up the top, because if it breaks the customs guys don’t like that the Qty packed doesn’t match what’s on the form and the risk is that it would come back to you. 😀 just in case… Or you could just put another layer of brick under the nest.

Add another course of bricks, but paint them green this time

This is eight inches tall. Remove the wheels to make it shorter. [https://biggreenegg.com/products/xl-nest/](https://biggreenegg.com/products/xl-nest/)
Pavers or bricks
Concrete pavers
Also, if you still have a piece of the same black granite for the counter, they can add it to the bottom. it will raise the egg. it also looks good..
Paver
Or a layer of refractory brick…
just add a piece of granite to match the size of the brick opening. You don’t want to get charcoal dust on your white brick anyway.
If you’re worried about heat buy some firebricks.
A dark piece of stone or slate to fill that area would be a nice base for the cradle to rest in, and it would look pretty nice.
I would seal off the front and pour 3” of cement, let it cure and paint it the same color as the brick
