I grew up with this trivet around but haven’t made a recipe until recently! I substituted turkey for ground beef and added some vegetables like corn, green peppers, and beans (it was for my family so it didn’t have to be super authentic 😆). It turned out delicious and I really liked how the unique spices, especially cinnamon, flavored the chili!

When I was growing up there was a restaurant that served this. They had a different name for it but it was definitely this. I really loved it back then but hadn’t thought of it in years. Definitely think I’m gonna try it at home!

From Cincinnati now in Tennessee. Definitely Skyline although I think the corn and Green Peppers adds more than Skylines.

Why does it have bean corn and bell peppers in it? Cincinnati chili does not have any of that

I know you’re trying to make it just how you want it which you should…….. but understand you’ve committed the highest of heresy of Cincinnati chili in fact corn should not be found anywhere near chili unless it is in the form of bread.

If you’re originally from Cincinnati, I came across another old Cincinnati delicacy recipe somewhere on the internet a while ago.
Not a big fan of chili or kidney beans, but this looks good! Think I could sub the kidney beans with black beans or some other bean?
Could it be made in a slow cooker? Just dump everything in and let her rip? LoL

If the favors of Cincinnati Chili is your meal ringer (as in dinner bell), you’ll LOVE Picadillo. Comes in variations of Mexican, Cuban, Jamaican….very good!

My kind of three way, right fellas?

It does have the word “kidney” in the recipe. Will you post another pic showing the whole recipe, or at least the instructions. Nice post, by the way. Love chili. Check out Picadillo. Especially Cuban.

I’m from NC, but lived in Columbus OH for a couple of years. Cincinnati chili is an addiction for me now along with White Castle, Massey’s Pizza and Ding Ho’s Shrimp and Lobster sauce.
