Yeah, I can still use the controls on the device, but this feels kinda slimy guys. Like okra cooked at 172° for 48 hours slimy.

    Yup. They’re getting a lot of hate here lately. Newer models are even being sold without screens, so you can only control them via the paid app. Get a different brand next time.

    I owned three Anovas, all failed. Very happy with my dumb $100 Eurochef circulator. You do not need an Anova, or anything with Wi-Fi/Bluetooth and an internet connection.

    Purchased my Anova at Costco about a year ago, never needed the app, so this doesn’t mean a tenth of a cent for me. What’s the added utility with the app? Is everyone setting their food in room temp water, connecting from work mid day to start the cook?

    Got an instant pot one for my birthday four years ago. No Bluetooth or wifi. I love it
