Originally opened in 1954, the burger box has been a longstanding pillar of the Coachella valley community. I grew up coming here as did my parents. Very sad to see it close and turned in to a truck stop.

Bummer, wish I tried it before it closed. Never heard of it but in the Coachella Valley at least once a year.

It’s always sad when places like this leave us. I’ve never been there, but from the pics I can tell it was a special place. Sad to know it’s being replaced by a truck stop.
We had a classic diner from the 50s near me that closed down a couple years ago. The family decided to sell and retire. A small local BBQ chain bought the property, and we were all sure they would keep the old building. Sadly, around two weeks ago they tore it down and started construction on a new one. It made a lot of people sad to see it go, but the new place is locally owned and will be their 4th location. It’s kind of bittersweet, I guess.

Makes me think… I should really visit my local burger joint.

Crazy. They should just sell it to new owner , a burger box at a truck stop would kill it $$

There’s no better burger than a small town burger stand. If you’re ever in Fort Bragg Ca. don’t leave without getting a Jennys giant burger.

Never been there. Hate that it’s gone. Looks like a great burger

What’s the 2nd pic? Looks like what we call a potato cake here in Australia (only some parts as others call them potato scallops among other things).

You always have me at pastrami. I hit up my local before me burger joint when I can. If you have them support them, when I eat out I always support local.
