The big strength of American cheese is how easily it melts, and this does not appear to be melted. That being said, this is ‘Murica. You can use any cheese-like substance that you want.

This reminds me of the time my nyc raised parents took me to Katz’s deli and 10-year-old me ordered mayo on my corned beef and asked for white bread. My dad apologized to the server and said ‘I’m sorry, she grew up in Ohio’

Only corned beef i can find at a deli is literally over $12/lb. Wild. I can get a ribeye cheaper. Jelly of that sandwich tho..needs kraut.
