Salsa Snobs

Today at the farmer’s market there was a woman creating poems about any topic you chose. I asked for one about my home-canned salsa!


I’ve included a few other photos from my salsa canning journey this year. I’ve done about 30 jars so far and have probably 60ish more to go!

    Poem:

    Salsa shows us

    how simple life can be,

    that finding happiness

    does not need to be a quest

    but instead can be found

    at the palm of our hands:

    in the shapes of tomatoes

    and peppers,

    onions and

    spices.

    Salsa is

    the beauty of building beside nature

    of nourishing soil

    and nourishing the stomach,

    it is slowing down —

    finding breath

    , every seal an exhale.
