Took a well aged, perfectly stored Bourgogne with impeccable provenance to an Indian restaurant. Cork was perfect, popped and poured but waited 15 mins – evolved in the bottle all evening. Still singing at 25 years- nose was floral, earthy and got some cherry and blackberry, minerals fading and finish not very long. But elegant and composed after so long for a Bourgogne. Says everything about the producer.

With spicy Indian food you say, how inappropriate. This was only used during early appetizers, and have to say the spices counterintuitively did not overwhelm the wines.

Confirmed yet again, Burgundy is all about the producer. I recall buying a case of this at under $50 a bottle long ago. Just a couple left, was worried its past its prime but definitely not so.
