I already have my first espresso machine! I bought the delonghi dedica style and I'm quite happy, it makes a decent coffee with pre-ground coffee. Now I'm looking for a bottomless filter, a cheap manual grinder and accessories (tamper, diffuser…) If you can write me some recommendations, I would really appreciate it.

Kingrinder K2/K4/K6, any PF from Amazon/Aliexpress that’s made of brass and fits it. The cheapest springy tamper from AliExpress. Maybe add a nice single walled basket, it probably has stock pressurised basket only. Diffuser – your finger, any fitting funnel, silicone mat to tap on, and the cheapest WDT. Grinder is the most important.

  2. If you are a beginner, I would not go straight to bottomless. I’d upgrade the portafilter but don’t worry about bottomless yet.

1Zpresso handgrinders. For a budget electric grinder check out the Baratza Encore ESP

My first grinder was a 1zpresso X-Ultra , relatively easy to use & I loved it. Any 1spresso product really, I’ve heard only good reviews.

However personally, hand grinding got old quick and I would have rather saved up and gotten a budget electric grinder. (D54, Baratza Encore ESP) you’re gonna get upgrade-itis anyways but that’s just me. I have a D64 now so I could’ve saved some money in the long run.

I got a cheapish bottomless portafilter I found on Amazon (~$40) just find your size (54mm?) I didn’t look into ims baskets or anything like that. The stock basket it came with was just fine.

And for a tamper I’d get a regular old tamper from amazon again (~$30) I have a Normcore calibrated tamper but I don’t think it makes much a difference from a regular one.

I’d also invest in a puck screen (~$15) (my portafilter came with one!) & a WDT tool (~$10) it will make dialing in much easier to clean up !

I also disagree with a previous comment and I’d go with a bottomless filter right off the bat , it’s really not as hard and you’ll get much better spro because of it! Admittedly it took me about a half bag of spro but once you’re dialed in you’re good !

I was looking at this very same machine over the weekend and was wondering if that’s a great beginner’s choice as I don’t want to jump in the 400-600 EUR range right of the bat. Please keep us posted about your progress and experiences!

Did you buy it for espresso or milk coffees?

K4 grinder, had it for a year, no problems. At some point you’ll want an electric grinder for convenience but the budget will have to be higher.

I’ve had this machine for a few years, it has served me well
