I’ve been exploring Oregon PN and Beaujolais lately, mostly as a self-preservation move for my wallet compared to Burgundy.

This popped up at our local shop and seemed fun to try a N. American take on Beaujolais, plus I’ve heard great things about Martin Woods / Evan Martin’s winemaking on this sub.

I found intense tart cranberry and pomegranate on the nose, with anticipation of what I can only describe as “crunchy” taste if you were to eat those fruits straight-up. A chalky, mineral finish rounded it out.

This hit the spot for us, and looking forward to trying some of their Pinots next.

Haven’t had the Gamay, but the Hyland Vyd Pinot
    Is outstanding.

Huge fan of anything Martin woods. One of my favorite US Gruners. Holding the 2022 Cab Franc for the next decade (hopefully).

Love this bottle! I’ve been really meaning to try their chards.

One of my faves. Evan makes a stellar Chardonnay as well.

Note for the group – if you ever make it to the Valley he’s got a wine bar called HiFi. It’s in McMinnville. And it’s a great place for all sorts of fun wine (both Valley and Europe). #notaffiliated
