What about collards? Or did I miss it ❤
I love red Russian kale! I’m going to start letting some plants go to seed and do the work for me.
Thank you
Rocking the flip flops still…. My fellow ENCer!
I hope you'll make some persimmon videos this year as well. I've just planted my first one🧡
I live in 8a Atlanta, GA. I’m wanting to plant an avocado tree. I thought it was best to plant in the fall, but someone told me to only plant deciduous trees and bushes in fall to plant evergreens in spring. I’m confused. When do you think is the best time?
Radish is the one thing that refuses to grow for me. It never develops the red bulb.
I really appreciate you telling us the best kinds of each vegetable and why. Also really appreciate the sales on Amazon that you share. Thank you!
Can't get carrots to germinate, even under a board… and the carrots, beets, bunching onions, kohlrabi, and radishes that do grow aren't growing underground. All I'm getting is leaves. Even spinach, chard, and sorrel aren't germinating. I'm only getting lettuces and arugula to grow. Even lancinato and red Russian kale giving me grief
Thank you
Howdy-ho MG and sweet Dale!🤔
Thanks for reminding me it's time to plant my kale and turnips. I have a lot of the other suggestions already growing.😃
MG, I have a question for you. This is my first year getting a good fig harvest. November is supposed to be colder than usual for Central Texas. Do I need to top my plants to get my fruit to ripen quicker?
Thanks!💕
Love gardening in the fall!!!
Very informative, thank you. The energy in the video is great too. What an awesome channel!
TIP: For nearly the same cost you can get OUNCES of "sprouting" seeds instead of a regular pack containing maybe a gram or less. This is how I stocked up on bulk Arugula seeds and many others. Here in rural Louisiana I put down a small 8×10 tarp in my yard in August, keep the area watered, and the bugs and worms consume the grass underneath it leaving bare soil turned into earthworm castings. Then in October I toss Arugula and Dutch Clover seeds over the bare soil. I get a lot of fresh salad greens and the bees get a nice clover patch next spring.
I hope you did not lose everything in the hurricane.
Can I grow these veggies in zone 9 in pots?
I`m still picking figs, tomatoes, cucumbers, green beans, mulberries and cow peas here in central Louisiana. I got 8 lightweight tarps and row covers to protect tomato plants and other things if it frosts to extend my harvest for as long as possible. A fig tree cutting I planted this year has about 30 more figs swelling and ripening all at once. I have to go add more organza bags tonight so the birds don`t get any ideas. We got down to 37 twice and the 40s/50s a lot. I`m back to using a heater at night and air conditioner during the day.
Arugula is very good tasting- sort of peppery.
Where do i buy a self seeding dale plant?
If you want an instant green onions patch transplant a couple of bunches from the store. Save the seeds next summer when they bloom to replant.
Believe it or not it isn`t uncommon to see winter temperatures down to 3 degrees here in central Louisiana in recent years. It got down to 3 degrees in February 2021 and zero with 50 mph winds in December 2022. Every cold weather plant I had growing died because single digit temperatures lasted 4 days and it didn`t get above freezing for 7 days. Only one lettuce plant survived and a bunny got it. Last year`s low was 7 degrees. My mustard, turnips, rutabagas, green onions and radishes survived though. So large fig trees are a challenge here.
My radishes grow all tops and no bottoms, so I feed the tops to my rabbit.
What weed barrier fabric (on top of soil) do you suggest buying? I live in Canada and need just under 6x 600 ft … ive never bought anything like it before and can barely afford one purchase or a mistake. Your suggests are VERY appreciated as is your channel!
My temperatures are still in the mid 80s and lows are 50s. Tried planting some greens and it is still fairly warm on the new sprouts. I am also thinking of throwing in the town. But the more i watched your videos i am getting ramped up again. Trying to get my fruit trees ready for winter. I also watched your video on that. But i do have a question on that. I have a couple of fig trees that are root bound. Should i wait or can i repot them now
Great video. I have a question about when to water my vegetables during the cold season. Should I water just on days that are 70 degrees? I live in Dover,Pa zone 7a. Thank you and of course you get a big 👍🏼😊
You forgot the link for the seeds to grow our own Dale.
Or are Dales self-seeding only? 😁
Thank you so much, so helpfull with all the extra information why you can grow them
Love the special appearances (Dale)! Puts a smile on my face. Your interaction with him tells me you’re a good daddy, even though he interrupts your video.
Thank you ❤. I am trying growing in my green stalks and a couple raised beds. My huge garden is still growing with flowers and peppers …lots of weeeds😂 I’m in zone 8a in Georgia….we have a super long growing season
Thank you for sharing all of this great info! I always thought cilantro was a warm weather herb!! What about culantro? Any tips for this herb?
I really love your videos! Packed with information! Thanks again 🎉
Your videos are always so well done, jam-packed with helpful information, plus Dale appearances as a great bonus. I really appreciate the content 🙂
