Purchased this on a whim as I was drawn to the description of the small wine region that is from: Porongurup – cool sea breezes, high altitude and longer growing seasons.

This was utter deliciously but what impressed me the most was its elegance and balance. It was not the most complex I've had, but it was able to walk the tightrope of fresh medium bodied Shiraz and still have that depth of flavour and concentration that prevents it from being a thin airy wine with bubblegummy flavours. And this is just their entry wine!

For those who are looking for powerful Aussie Shiraz, this will not be to your liking. But for my palate, I would buy this again and pair it with a multitude of dishes including Cantonese Roasted Pork, Salmon and even a little Schnitzel.

Keep your eye out for Shiraz from Clare Valley if you want a fresher style of Shiraz. A cooler climate than Barossa/Mclarenvale but incredibly good quality

  2. yeah that 0,2% really pushes it to fresh territory 😂😂

I really like Somerled’s shiraz from Adelaide hills. They do a cracking reserve pinot as well.
