Here are 3 levels of Caesar Salad

Level 1: Bagged Salad
Honestly, you get what you pay for here. It’s fine in a pinch, but we can definitely do better.

Level 2: Homemade Caesar Salad
Make your dressing with some mayo, spicy mustard, capers, anchovy paste, lemon juice, red wine vinegar, salt, a little Worcestershire sauce, and some fresh parm.

Roughly chop your romaine, add some good croutons, and toss your salad in your dressing.

This is delicious, but lets do better.

Level 3: The Ultimate Caesar Salad
Make your dressing with some smashed garlic, spicy mustard, egg yolk, whole anchovies, Worcestershire sauce, a splash of Tabasco, red wine vinegar, lemon juice, a little salt, and some freshly grated parm. Slowly add some olive oil and whip your dressing well.

Cut some baby gem lettuce into quarters and add some dressing to each leaf so they’re all evenly coated.

Make some good croutons with stale sourdough, salt, garlic, parm, and some olive oil. Pan fry or toast in the oven until crispy.

Combine all of your ingredients and let it rain parmigiano reggiano.

If you’re going to make a salad, make it right.

  1. . Try not cutting, but tear. Croutons like yours make a huge difference.

  2. Man what a talented Detroit chef !! Thank you for showing us level 3 most people only know level 2. Like this poor bastard commented below me. You enlighten us ohh great chef master. Detroit baby !!! Big fan

  3. Chef Mike love this. Ive been making cesar salad for years. The dressing is key. I use dry mustard instead of prepared. Such a satisfying dish and a great way to introduce anchovy to people.

  4. One day I'll be having the food at Detroit 75 Kitchen and when I do I will be seated while dining…because this food will knock me on my ass anyway.

  5. Level 3, some good techniques but not a Caesar Salad, just a romaine lettice salad, might as weill put steak and mashed potatoes on top and calkef it a Caesar Salad, 👎

  6. I don't like salad with huge lettuce chunks or loaded with sauce. It's the only menu item that I ever request a modification: Sauce on the side.

Though, honestly, I rarely, deliberately, ever, order salad willingly 😉

  7. Me knowing that little seasoning pack doesn’t taste grass makes me question his taste

  8. Sourdough for croutons is the best. I've made them as part of food gifts before, and everybody said not one of the croutons made it to a salad. They were only snacks. I loved hearing that.

  9. You are not honest with the levels you display. Store bought is not a level, that's just lazy. Your level 2 is your level your level 1 and level 3 your 2. Elevate your game please.

  10. mane every video i was this mf keeping it real , not too serious but respectful and having fun with it love your energy my man
