I had a hard time with tomatoes this summer but am having better luck this fall. Going to try making my own sauce. We finally got a little rain. It's been two months since we've had any, I've been watering a lot!

Very nice! Is that one of the multi flora tomatoes?

I am also in the Houston area and my tomatoes and peppers are doing very well. The rain is definitely welcome!

Tomatoes like moderate heat. They don’t do well in scorching sun. You can try putting a shade cloth on them as a canopy in the summer time and irrigate them well. They might start doing just as well in the heat

Houstonian here, It was a rough summer for tomatoes. But I also found the fall season to be much better for growing cherry and beefsteak tomatoes. Cucumbers are growing well too!
