Yesterday I went to lunch at St Lawrence Market, I got my food to go so sorry it wasn't plated yet! I had decided to switch up my usual go to places and went to the following-
Yianni's Kitchen- So I've actually had just about every Greek food known to mankind… Except moussaka. Now this is mainly because I find myself wanting things like souvlaki etc when I do have Greek food, or else I just haven't seen decent looking moussaka from the places I have been to. Today I got it fresh out the oven and the first piece given so I was excited! I love how they use both the eggplant and the potatoes, not every place does both I find when seeing it on the menu. Asked for extra rice and potatoes since I don't do Greek salads, and the tzatziki sauce was hands down the best I've had in Toronto by far.
European Delight- came here to get a cabbage roll as I don't usually get those and it's the authentic polish kind. It had all the right spices and stuffed to the brim with a great mix of beef and rice and veggies! The sauce was just fantastic and while I don't do things like this often for food I'd definitely buy it again. Also the meatballs at this place are good too I've gotten them a few times previously.
Future Bakery- I used to go to meet people when I was still in the area at the Bathurst location but didn't find it very good. The one at Lawrence market is way better and way more to offer. I got a slice of cherry cheesecake and it was pretty good. There's a Ukrainian deli downstairs near the bulk food place that actually does a way better cheesecake, but they change the flavors so if they had the ones I usually get I would've gone there instead.
