Betas are basically just decorations, thrown out when they inevitably die of mistreatment, malnutrition, poisoned by the water that wasn’t treated or cleaned, etc. and quickly replaced with more.

I know I’ll catch flak for this but the idea of a bunch of non vegans being upset about the treatment of a beta when they literally pay for slaughter of billions of fish and land animals on the daily is insane to me. You only get upset when you can see it so you look away, sorry you were forced to look at a sad fish while you eat your dead fish.

My first thought was of the back room, and how many shelves of these poor fish are sitting in those tiny containers just waiting for the glass plug on top to be thrown in so they can be sent out to a table.

In the name of fairness, I feel like mentioning I’d eat the little guy in a heartbeat if he had some more meat on him and tasted good. But he doesn’t need to be tortured for his guaranteed short life.
