Sorry if this isn't the right place to ask: I slow cooked some pork ribs and when I pulled them out some crystallized looking bones fell off. What causes this, and do I need to be concerned?

    This came off the end of a rib bone after cooking? There were more than one of them that did this? I’m sorry I’m not understanding where they came from but I’m also an idiot. How exactly did you cook them?

    It’s either a gland, or it’s the end of the rib or cartilage where the rib tips meet.
