RFX test run

My pre-ordered ThermoWorks RFX was delivered last Saturday… just in time for a test run that night. Nothing crazy I was already planning to reverse sear a couple of really nice prime filets that I had dry brining in the fridge. The provided instructions were pretty light but setup was straightforward and everything just worked. Found my WiFi network with no issue. The probe went in the largest steak and it had no issue with connectivity back to the gateway after going inside the Big Green Egg. I even kept the gateway inside the house (magneted to the refrigerator) and the probe never lost connection. App had nice graph showing temp over time and rate of temp change was also displayed. Alarm rang on my phone the instant the temp crossed the threshold I set. Can’t wait to try it with the Billows and test out a longer cook where I can go to sleep and/or leave the house without worry.
