I recently visited my local Home Depot and noticed a grill being offered at a significantly reduced price. The original listed price was $449, but it was being sold for $150. My father is a skilled smoker, and I am accustomed to using Pit Boss grills. However, considering the discount, I couldn’t resist the opportunity to purchase my own grill. While there is some surface rust present, it appears to be manageable.

I am currently undecided between refurbishing the grill and selling it or simply cleaning it and using it for my own purposes.

Any advice?

I looked at the reviews afterward and saw that some people had issues with them, but I also saw others who said they were great. I’m not sure who to believe.

What did Cher ever do to you, do you not believe in life after love?

I find so many of these by the road as trash. I have literally gotten 3 of these that way.

I had the gas with a side burner box that I added later it was a good grill I cut it’s life cause I often burned wood in it for smoke. Cast grates tend to flake though

  4. You paid about what it is worth. A flip opportunity is likely not there.

I suggest sticking with beef and pork. Maybe the occasional chicken.

  6. I had one of these for eight years, it’s definitely a starter grill but did the job when I needed. the top racks are trash. The side burner is awesome for starting your chimney for your weber kettle. The propane side was actually pretty good it gets very hot. Because it’s a clamshell top the smoker side is pretty useless as an actual smoker even with the side box attachment. For $150 I would say good deal

I have actually have one of these, with the $100 smoker box mounted on the side it is a decent until. A little more difficult to control temps and not the perfect unit by any means but I’ve had it years and would certainly buy it at that price.

I always wanted one of those because the first grill I really used a lot was the charcoal only one that i got for free. I used it until the bottom fell out. It did pretty good two zone or indirect as well as direct grilling.
