I’ve seen a few posts about this in the last week or so and I had just picked up a can myself. Reviews in the comments were mixed. I personally enjoyed it quite a bit. Good heat, pretty good flavor. I’m surprised others said this was too salty for them. This isn’t even the highest sodium Campbells Chunky soup variety and I didn’t not find it overly salty in the least. Also, I did not think it was hot just for the sake of being hot, I mean it is ghost pepper so what can you expect, but I was pleasantly surprised that the chicken flavor still shines through. Anyone else have a chance to try this and care to share their thoughts?

It was to hot for me. But other hot heads will rejoice

By your own admission this has already been covered by numerous other posts. What opinions are you expecting to get here that haven’t already been elucidated on one of the daily threads for this can of soup?

I don’t mean any offense here, but clearly this sub is strongly divided between neophytes and hardcore pepperheads that have a kind of tolerance you can’t automatically build up to. There’s not a ton of middle ground, so like predictably 90% of the posts will be about common grocery store items and the other 10% will be about shit that you have to mail order just to blow up your bowels. I’m one of those rare people in the upper middle who probably isn’t going to blindly mail order a lot of shit, but then again I don’t necessarily need to know every time someone tries Yucateca for the first time.

I have never in my life bought canned soup

Is there any reason to buy this rather than just make my own soup and add peppers

I mix this soup with an equal amount of olive oil and use it to “Greek” myself with a big rubber egg plant.

This canned soup thing feels like a psyop. Actually every time some low-quality mild-heat fast food item shows up on here and people start singing its praises I get the distinct impression that this sub is full of industry plants trying to advertise.

    > I’m surprised others said this was too salty for them. This isn’t even the highest sodium Campbells Chunky soup variety and I didn’t not find it overly salty in the least.

Did you look at the sodium content per can? Per serving is 34%, but the can is divided into two servings. The entire can is 74% DV (don’t ask how that maths). In one can. In one meal. You will eat at least two more meals in the same day, snacking on chips and pretzels in between while guzzling sodas throughout the day, adding even more sodium. So 75% in a single can is a lot of sodium and doesn’t give you much room to budget for the day. Someone might say, “Well, don’t eat it every day.” Most do, though, because they read the smaller per-serving numbers and think that’s the whole can. Kinda like cereal. Everyone looks at the picture on the front of the box of the big ol’ bowl filled to the brim with Super Blast Fruit Puff Mega Whackle Crunch cereal thinking they can eat three of those and be fine, but the serving size is actually like 1/2 cup, so they’re gonna get da beetus in five days.

I’d like to see them change it to 25% DV per can. They don’t have the balls to do that because they know everyone will complain about the flavor. Most would rather have heart disease at 50, so that’s what the corporations give them.

Edit: I bought a 5-pack off Amazon some time back without thinking about the sodium and can’t budget it easily into my daily diet. I had to improvise and ended up doing this which made a lot of people mad:

For the love of everything, stop posting pictures of this canned liquid ass

Was a fan of Pragresso’s Spice it up soups. Heard mixed things about this as well, but maybe after this I’ll give it a go.

You did the post wrong. You’re supposed to post it while you’re in your kitchen at dinner time having already bought it and ask if it’s any good. Instead of just eating it and then telling us all about it.

  10. It’s quite spicy, but the soup is otherwise very bland. I didn’t like it.

not sure what the point is, I would rather get the best soup I can find and dose it with my sauce of choice.
